It seems like the year is flying by, doesn’t it?
I can hardly believe that it’s already October. I feel like I am behind in achieving some of my goals for the year, and that includes offering workshops to language teachers in Santiago that are serious about improving their teaching practice.
Why should I attend these workshops?
After attending advanced training in second language acquisition with going through teacher preparation programs in both elementary and secondary teaching, I had the opportunity to try out the theories and activities presented at a variety of age levels in my classrooms in the United States which included teaching kindergarten to students learning English, and Spanish and German at the high school level.
Once I moved to Chile, it became apparent that I couldn’t use the same strategies in the same way, but I could adapt them to the Chilean context. I have had success using these strategies with students ranging from ages 4 to 64 in individual, small group, and with classes of up to 42 students.
Given my 12 years of experience in teaching and presenting at conferences in California and throughout Chile, I can give you the tools and strategies to take your teaching to the next level.
In addition to what I can provide, it’s a great opportunity to collaborate with other teachers. In each workshop we talk about how you can use the strategies and activities in your classrooms, and the participants often share ideas with each other. This exchange of ideas and communication is invaluable to improving your teaching.
You can see the details about each workshop in the photos below. If you’re interested or have any questions feel free to leave a comment or get in touch by writing to contact@danielguim.com.
I hope to hear from you soon!
